New Home
We closed on the purchase of our first home June 30 and moved in this weekend. We got a lot of help from Lindsey's parents, Katie, David and Kelly.

Dad 'Stache
When Oliver was born I had a pretty nasty looking beard. My parents were sure to let me know they did not particularly like the look. As it was, they just weren't privy to my plans. In an attempt to pay homage to our fathers I grew a Dad 'Stache. I hoped it would serve as a thanks for a job well done.

Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler!
Oliver was born early today (February 5) after an extended labor, starting just after the New York Giants upset the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl. I briefly suggested we name our child Eli after Super Bowl XLII MVP, Eli Manning. Lindsey was not necessarily amused.
Oliver's birth weight was 6 pounds, 3 ounces and he was 19 and 3/4 inches long. He was born with a head of black hair and an orange tint from jaundice, giving him a slightly Mediterranean complexion.
Oliver was known as Baby Finnegan until Thursday (February 7) when Lindsey and I decided on the name Oliver Ryan Finnegan. Previously we had discussed using the double name John Oliver, but when the hospital staff began referring to him simply as John we were slightly disappointed. We really liked the name Oliver. Thus baby Finnegan became baby Oliver Finnegan.
Oh yeah...Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler! (Let the good times roll!)...Oliver was born on Fat Tuesday. Thanks to Jennifer Watson for the King Cake!
